A break in the weather
It’s difficult to know what time it is in the mornings! The windows in the cottage are small and the walls thick, so it can be quite dark, even when it’s relatively late….
By 11 am (!) we were on the road to Fougères, having decided at the last minute to have a trip out. It’s about 45 minutes away and a lovely drive in the countryside from Normandy and just into Brittany.
The medieval castle is probably the main attraction here and is magnificent….
After a walk through the pretty valley park (photo taken from a vantage point),
we had a sandwich in the square, just watching people go by and enjoying the unexpected warm weather….
On the way home, via Ernée, we came across a brocante and I couldn’t resist having a look, despite Edward’s best efforts!
I managed to secure a couple of purchases, and Edward found the blown glass bud vase – all for 13 Euros! ♥
