Since the last cold snap, when we saw the beautiful hoar frosts, there has been a brief spell of grey days and rain, then it’s turned cold again, with a bitterly cold wind coming from the North….  The days have been clear, though and the sunrises have been quite stunning…

Today, yet again, the temperature is minus 8 degrees.  Work continues in the barn, but it’s hard, tiring work when it’s so cold.  We stopped for a cup of tea around midday and walked down to the stream, where it comes out through the culvert – we could see it was frozen from the house but were amazed to see the incredible ice structures that had formed around the falling water…..

Glad we’d wrapped up warm for the short walk back!! ♥
