Framed by leafy branches, this view appeared to me whilst on a local ramble. Bathed in the amber evening light and clearly outlined, these bales of hay are a reminder of the passing year. The grass, having captured the sun’s energy over the warm maturity of summer will sustain livestock during the lean winter.
